Maher was asked to take over a building in a slum alongside the railway station in the small town of Miraj by Fr Luis Rubello. At that time it housed street children from the railway. Since Father could no longer manage the house, Maher was asked to take it over.

After some consideration Maher took over responsibility for this house 25/1/2015 and improved certain aspects of the house; including repairs and repainting. 15 Women and 9 children are now housed here. The house meets the need of the local community, but has limited space around the home for the children to enjoy. Plans for Miraj include:
