Warm wishes to you all for a Happy & Blessed New Year!

All the celebrations at Maher are so very special.  Saying goodbye to 2016 started at 6.00 PM.  Fr. Louis celebrated mass in thanksgiving to the divine along with all our volunteers from USA, Bernie from UK,  David from Austria and the Maher family.

The Mass was followed by a candle light procession in two lines, bringing in the New Year and spreading the message of the divine light to the whole world. The candles were placed around the world, a rangoli (a design with coloured powder)which was very artistically done.  The children and adults sat in silence dedicatedly praying for Peace in the world.

After the prayer every child’s home leader and the House mother made their New Year resolution in the form of a garland and this garland was placed on the Christmas trees that were placed on either side of the stage.  Maher’s US volunteers also joined in.

This was followed by distribution of sweets and food after which everyone was ready to dance to their hearts content.  The volunteers too enjoyed the programme thoroughly. The women and children sat in silence for meditation and prayer.  Thereafter they thoroughly enjoyed the cultural programme, food, chocolates, cake and danced to their hearts content.

On the morning of New Years day the bus left very early for Vatsalyadham to avoid the Koregaon traffic, for the War Memorial.

Since Fr. Francis D’Sa was in Germany on 29th November for his 80th Birthday.  Maher celebrated his birthday on 1st January.  After the mass was the cultural programme which was  well prepared by Leena and Aspin, the staff at Vatsalyadham.

Fr. Francis was very grateful for all the service we render to the needy people.  He also said that we all should be like children, fresh, ever smiling without worrying about tomorrow.  The day was full of love and laughter.

May the New Year be filled with love, joy peace and happiness and may all of us be a light of love to all.
